Thefts and Vandalism Reported to Officers
Several thefts and vandalism incidents were reported Tuesday to police. The thefts included a stereo tape player from a used car at Winter Chevrolet on 738 N.H. St, a carburetor from a car on Fire side Dr, and $10.50 from a coin machine at Farmers Co op. Vandalism involved windows shot at West Junior High School by a .22 rifle, with a bullet found in a classroom.

KU Coed Injured in Murphy Hall Fall
Dr. Raymond Schwegler KU student health director said no serious injuries occurred after coed Lauren Roberts a KU sophomore from Ridgefield Conn fell on Murphy Hall steps. She was taken by ambulance to Watkins Memorial Hospital at 12 30 pm Tuesday treated and released.

KU Museum hopes for return of stolen Renoir sculpture
Bret Waller, director of the Kansas University Art Museum, said officials remain hopeful the bronze sculpture by Aristide Maillol, a Renoir portrait, stolen from the courtyard will be returned. Penalty Lightened In Embezzlement Case
Kathryn Brickner of Lawrence was convicted in Douglas County District Court of embezzling 2404.01 dollars from the county between November 1, 1966, and July 28. The 28 year old received a suspended sentence after a nonjury trial before Judge Frank Gray. She had been employed by the county and restitution was made within 24 hours of an audit.

Local youth to face hearing on grand larceny
An 18 year old Lawrence resident Albert L Wright was charged with grand larceny for theft of stereo tapes and equipment from a car Monday night. The owner Larry Bennett a Kansas University junior reported the car missing after 7:30 pm Monday and Wright was arraigned Tuesday morning. He is held in county jail on a 1500 dollar bond awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday at 2 pm.
