Six Children Die After Pittsburgh Gas Explosion

Superintendent D Wolfe announced that Cordley School will reopen Monday if unforeseen problems do not arise from the Wednesday night flood caused by a hot water tank bursting. The building lacks heating, lighting, gas, and phone service but the furnace is dried and tested, electric lines are reenergized, and gas service is back. An engineer from Griest and Eckdahl inspected the damage and Elmer Cone of Cone Company was present. A replacement tank is needed for hot water and the clocked intercom system remains out of service pending repairs.
