Three people die in Tulsa after a quarrel ends with F J Hivick killing his wife and young daughter then taking his own life. Neighbors Dr J Hanervager and Ms Bailey found the scene. the wife dies at a hospital two hours later. Local authorities report the family tragedy shocked the community.
All jury cases in the Douglas County district court term were heard and the jurors impaneled for service were dismissed. Jurors were to report this morning but were dismissed Sunday. A Douglas County Bar Association meeting is set for 1 30 this afternoon in the district courtroom. A Fall ruling upkept by the DC court of appeals affirms a grant dispute involving the Elk Hills reserve and Standard Oil.
The body of an aviator near St. George’s Bay was identified as Count Jacques de Lessept from papers and medals found on the body. He had disappeared months earlier after an incident down the St. Lawrence valley.
In Cilleagre on December 5 AP a surge of buyers offered 2500 dollars per left ear after a New York Chicago society woman who lost her ear sought a graft. The interested party, supported by attorney Jay J. McCarthy, fled the city amid publicity and ordered the matter halted for the time being as more offers were received.
In a chaos at the Parody cafe 1201 North State, gunmen staged a mid dance floor hold up at 2 45 am. Police guests and off duty officers returned fire. One man died seven wounded six robbers involved. Police officer John Fried shot the leader who fell after his gun jammed. A waiter Harry Sopith was killed fleeing the rear.
A church funding and involvement drive at First Baptist Church Lawrence urged members to participate over three Sundays. Charles K. Miller of Missouri Valley near Ton Fanokie won top honors at the Kansas City Apple Show with thirteen ribbons. His Miller orchards gathered state and national recognition for varieties including Staman Winesaps Black Twigs and more. He owns about 450 acres plus 430 more from the old Morell orchards. M. Maghan coordinated the display. Nebraska and other states placed high in the competition.
Governor Paulen declined an investigation into the Topeka Kansas Boys Industrial School and its superintendent Col. Sam Clark. A delegation of mothers and temperance union members pressed for Clark's removal, while the governor noted conditions at the institution were not as they should be but said no investigation would occur at this time. The state board of administration members also met with the governor.
Charles W. Bachman resigns as football and track coach at Kansas State Agricultural College due to his wife’s health. The athletic board accepted the resignation, plans to hire a Notre Dame style football coach, and will seek a track coach. Bachman declined a partial coaching role.
The Annual Sunday School and convention of the northeast Douglas County district was held at the Big Springs church and school. Sessions opened at 10 o clock with a morning program led by Rev KR Conn of Topeka and closed with Prof P. Lawson speaking on the claim that the biggest job is the world. Afternoon activities included Raymond Holfsommer in charge of the program, with officer elections and various workers named from local churches.
Eighteen Gamma Phi Beta freshmen faced punishment for breaking house rules by attending a show and staying at the Eldridge hotel registered under aliases. University authorities declared them commised for the remainder of the semester, citing the rule requiring house mother permission to spend the night out.

Across six fronts, crews have suppressed many fronts and reduced damage though more than 400 men worked to contain the blaze. The fires have scorched thousands of brush and timber areas, with property losses estimated near 1 million dollars.
Mayor R C Rankin calls a Tuesday afternoon 4 o clock City hall conference to plan annual Christmas aid for Lawrence's poor. City organizations invited. non invited groups may send representatives to help. Funds last year supported baskets, milk for needy families, and school children via Miss Minnie Scott and Miss Electa Kindelsperger.
Santa Claus visited Lawrence last Saturday afternoon greeting two to three thousand children in the business district. He promised a future “Workshop Program” broadcast from SCNP via station WREN at ten minutes to six tomorrow evening and again Tuesday at the same time. He said letters from those he met will be read on air at WREN.

Geneva December 3 AP reports no basis of agreement was found after a 60 minute meeting between Sir Austen Chamberlain and Maxim Litvinoff on Soviet British relations. Litvinoff left hurriedly after the interview ending with an agreed British communique.
Niece of Rabindranath Tagore, Sushama Tagore Bindranath Tagore’s relative, will visit the university campus. She plans to speak at a faculty event and meet regular meetings with students and some university classes. The visit is linked to a primary school affair in Galcutta and a Paculex event tomorrow evening.
Former Kansas City pastor and president of the Christian Endeavor Union was arrested after postal inspectors seized a charter of sellers from the mails containing money. He left his pastorate about a year and a half ago to study for a larger pastorage in Chicago.
