The group cites Dark-Sky guidance and asks Westar and the city to protect the night sky and health by reducing glare and sky glow.
Westar customers can call 800 383 1183 for service as LED streetlights replace older lamps. Residents report glare and bright windows while officials cite better downward shielding and a 4000 kelvin standard. AMA guidelines favor 3000 kelvin to curb blue light, but city and Westar defend current policy while awaiting broader study.
