Kennedy School Consolidation Plans Meet Local Opposition

KU to use software to flag struggling freshmen for help

Kansas University will deploy Starfish Retention Solutions software to flag first year students who show academic difficulty. An adviser will contact flagged students to identify issues and connect them with campus tutoring, writing help and other support networks. The program aims to lift retention and graduation rates under Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and Professor Chris Hausler who leads the effort. The contract details and cost are not yet finalized.
