Defendant ordered to trial in death of Kansas toddler

Scotty R. Adam 24 faces felony murder and felony child abuse charges in the October 22 death of Timothy Post in Morris County. A judge ruled there is enough evidence for trial after his written confession was read aloud. Timothy’s mother testified he had appeared ill days before, with bruising noted by a Morris County doctor. Adam admitted rough treatment and throwing the toddler into a crib like a sack of potatoes.

Memorial service honors Judge Earl O'Connor and wife Jean

Hundreds gathered at Village Presbyterian Church to remember Senior U S District Judge Earl O'Connor and his wife Jean who died together at 76 and 66 respectively. Tributes praised their partnership and kindness as colleagues recalled his legal acumen and her warm support. Police have not disclosed the deaths' manner, and no other injuries were reported.
