The Simmons Hospital property, bought for 20000 in 1946 with a 1040 down payment from charter members and a loan from Bill Braum of Emporia, was paid off two years early by nearly 100 alumni and 50 actives. John Luttrell leads the chapter now, with house mother Mrs Thomas H Stuart and helper Philip Vergance and Roger Miller assisting with legal matters. The event coincided with the annual formal dance and alumni reunion featuring the Variety Band and a carved ice crest cake. A 1952 Pontiac was on display.
