Lawrence High School athletes turned out twenty five strong for the first basketball practice at City Y M C A court as interest in the indoor sport grows beyond last season. The squad includes gridiron standouts like Weede currently away with guard duties, and many from last year’s star lineup aim to maintain the team’s fast, heady style as they compete for positions with new University freshmen joining the fold.

Guards Acker Coffey Ulm Lead Team Bench Roles
Wards and Banning guard positions. Acker's unusual height gave him advantage last season but he lacked endurance until the final games. With consistent practice this season he should achieve an enviable record. Coffey and Ulm are light and fast on the floor, while Banning uses weight and height to advantage.
