Old Fashioned Christmas Parade Keeps Historic Horse Drawn Magic Alive
Denny Lynn, an Eudora resident, recalls riding and watching in Lawrence's Old Fashioned Christmas Parade, one of about 90 participants in a 11 a.m. Saturday event drawing riders from nine states. The rain or shine parade showcases horse drawn carriages and carts along Massachusetts Street, with spectators enjoying a holiday mood and community spirit. Candy is not thrown and pets are discouraged to protect horses and riders.
