Walter Edward and A L Miller of Hunnewell Kansas were forced to drive 400 miles through south central Kansas by a bank robber who held them for twelve hours. The pair were released near Lehigh at 3 AM after the robber, wounded in the nose by a shotgun, admitted the robbery netted 3600 dollars. They slept at several farms and finally told authorities of their ordeal. The bandit had previously worked in Newton machine shops and oil fields near Wichita.
