Douglas County considers stricter animal control rules
Proposed changes would specify prohibitions on owners allowing pets to injure other animals or to cause fear in people. Repeat violations could classify owners as nuisance or reckless, with penalties including three years without new animals. The Humane Society and Sheriff’s Office back the plan as the commission meets at 5:30 p.m. at the county courthouse.
