Self criticizes Kansas after rough road trip and Villanova setback
Kansas coach Bill Self laments a dropped effort citing five subpar showings and a hangover from a semifinal loss to Villanova. He notes freshman Joel Embiid’s seven blocks and Wayne Selden’s 14 points, yet calls the energy level “sucks” as UTEP pivoted to defense and a four-corner setup, with a late-game miscue costing a potential win.

Self laments energy and effort after KU comeback loss
Kansas coach Bill Self criticized his team's energy and effort after a 66-63 stumble to UTEP in the era of a three game tournament. He called for tougher, less casual play, noting Embiid Tarik Black and Wayne Selden showed bright spots while multiple turnovers and defensive lapses hindered the Jayhawks.
