Grandfather held after attempted robbery standoff at bank
Police and sheriff deputies blocked Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence as a tense standoff unfolded at a Firstar Bank. An elderly man, Paul Lee, was taken into custody after negotiations via cell phone. Lee was booked on aggravated robbery, criminal threat and kidnapping charges with federal options possible.
