Sunflower Artist Converts Home Into Gallery Style Studio
Marlene Carpenter fills her Colby Kansas home with oil sunflower paintings and crafts creating a private gallery. Her work features bright yellows and greens across walls, ceilings and furniture. She credits Dalby Community College classes and Van Gogh as inspiration, and she won best of show in 1982 for a field of sunflowers. Carpenter works as a drive up teller for Farmers and Merchants Bank and remains devoted to painting sunflowers full time.
