The measure was attached to a $762 million funding bill for State Justice departments and courts. Southern opposition is possible when the measure returns to the House. Washington lawyer and former Democratic National Committee chairman William M Boyle Jr died in his sleep Wednesday at age 59. A Leavenworth native and Kansas City lawyer, he helped Truman win in 1948 and led the DNC from 1949 to 1951. He leaves a wife, two daughters, and a twin brother Col Russell Boyle. Burial is in Washington after services at Blessed Sacrament Church.
