Out-of-state owners to close Allen Press facility in October

The Lawrence printing plant once famed for scientific journals will shut by Oct 28 as CJK Group ceases printing and distribution at the East Lawrence site. Knowledge Works Global will remain, but most staff face job loss while Lawrence workers are urged to seek positions at other Sheridan locations.

Affidavits seal in Swallow aggravated battery case

Swallow 39 testified at first court appearance that he acted to protect the homeless community from harm.
