Area growers develop family vineyard in Moravia inspired project
John Deere equipped couple, political refugees from the Czech Republic, cultivate ten acres of grapes using inspiration from Kugler family vineyards in Moravia. The Kugler cellar holds stainless vats, presses, corking gear, oak barrels and wine cases. Five varieties grow here Norton, Vidal Blanc, Seyval Blanc, Concord and Niagara. They earned a bronze in 2004 for Norton at a national wine contest in St Louis and value the morning vineyard stroll as payoff for their labor.

Haitian art from Hughes collection at Spencer through Sept
