Farm index climbs as prices rise on Aug 25
Washington reports the farm index rose two points from July 15 to August 25, reaching 59 percent of prewar prices. Hog prices slid about 4 percent due to higher slaughter and softer demand amid overall price advances. Wheat price increase linked to spring wheat condition and tighter global supplies.
