Vigil gathers faiths to mourn Ferguson events
A diverse crowd of 130 plus worshippers filled St Luke AME Church in Ferguson to mourn Michael Brown’s death. Leaders from Douglas County Jewish, Mennonite, Christian, Islamic, Unitarian and academic groups preached unity and action against institutional racism. Organized by Rabbi Moti Rieber of Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation, the gathering followed a similar event in April after a local JCC shooting.
