Relay Opens Fund Drive for Muscular Dystrophy Telethon
Lawrence and Wichita fire crews will relay a baton from Lawrence to Wichita Friday to launch the Muscular Dystrophy Association fund drive. Runners will pass the baton through Lawrence and nearby towns, ending with a telethon in Lawrence Sunday at 10 p.m. on local channels. Volunteers including city leaders and cheerleaders will staff pledge tables at Fire Station No. 1.
