Kansas University alumnus David Elkouri and his wife Debbi will fund scholarships totaling 800000 for KU School of Law. Elkouri earned KU degrees in 1975 and 1978, with his son Justin also a KU law graduate, while Debbi is an OU graduate who calls herself an adopted Jayhawk. The gift includes 500000 for the Elkouri Family Scholarship Fund via KU Endowment and 300000 more distributed over 12 years across scholars based on need and merit.
A dense schedule lists morning to late evening activities across Lawrence and nearby areas. Fitness workouts, photography classes, library programs, volunteer info meetings, farmers markets, city meetings, and arts events fill Tuesday to Friday with multiple venues including KU field near Robinson Gym and Lawrence Public Library.
