Kansas Leaders Debate Roosevelt Favor in Kansan Vote
Three Democratic leaders from Kansas met with national Chairman James A. Farley as sentiment in four of seven districts backed Roosevelt while Landon led in the remaining districts. Brodrick described Kansas as split, noting Roosevelt ahead in the third, fifth, sixth and seventh districts and Landon favored in the first, second and fourth. He contrasted past GOP strength with current race, and observed Landon’s statewide support faces a tougher challenge against Roosevelt.
