Hadl led famed backfields from Lawrence to the NFL
John Hadl, a standout Kansas back, is celebrated for his coordinating role among stellar Kansas and pro backfields. From Lawrence High to Kansas to San Diego and beyond, Hadl’s teammates like Wrench, Hall, Schick, McClinton, Lowe, Alworth, Lincoln, and others are cited as proof of his influence and enduring praise for his leadership. The piece lauds his four-man backfield groups, notes a 1961 Bluebonnet Bowl win, and argues Hadl belongs in the Hall of Fame.
