A two car crash near Graceville Minnesota killed three Kansans and a Minnesota woman yesterday. Victims were Herman Ruch 76 and his wife 67 of Leona Kansas Mrs Hugh Johnston about 35 of Topeka and Mrs Ed Weick 42 of Swanville Minnesota. The Rucks Mrs Weick and her son Dale 15 were in one car while Mrs Johnston her husband 38 and children Joleen 14 and Jerry 12 were in the other. Johnston and Dale Weick were critically injured and the two Johnston children were reported in poor condition at a local hospital.
Two Czechoslovak civilians landed near Mistelbach in northeast Austria in a stolen plane and asked Austrian authorities for asylum. Security officials held them for questioning.

Donald C. Smith 23, of Ballston Lake, was charged with first degree murder in the hanging death of 11 year old Peter Curran near his home. Smith allegedly confessed to the act, aiming to prevent the boy from telling his parents about a sex act. Authorities had previously ruled the death accidental. a coroner confirmed the certificate. Saratoga County DA Carlton J. King said the suspect feared disclosure to the boy’s parents.
In Pasadena California a senior collie owned by Matt Dideksen faced a neighbor dispute over freedom. The municipal court ruled the aged dog too old to harm or annoy others and dismissed the case, citing the dog’s age and health.
