Second suit filed against bus lines in fatal crash
Fred Robertson, Kansas City lawyer, filed a 16000 dollar damages suit in Wyandotte county district court against Pickwick Greyhound Bus Lines for the death of Mr and Mrs Stickel in a July 13 highway crash on highway 40 near North accident. The case follows an earlier $62100 suit by Charles Leinbach over Emma Leinbach's death. The Stickels and Leinbachs were in a Dodge driven by Bernhard Riewe when a Pickwick bus struck them, killing the two women and leaving Mr Stickel dead later at a local hospital. Riewe was found criminally negligent by a coroner's jury and Thompson faces similar charges.

John Henry a 44 year old Big Springs farmer is hospitalized in Topeka with serious burns from gasoline that spilled while refilling a tank at a tractor operated at a stone crusher owned by his brother Howard Henry of Lecompton. The blaze scorched his clothing and he is reported to be improving slightly. Henry is noted as a prominent Poland China hog producer in the area.
