Alan Hawkins 74 longtime KU bassoon professor dies
Alan Randolph Hawkins, 74, died July 21, 2012 in Lawrence after vascular dementia and Alzheimer's disease. A Celebration of Life is set for 2:30 p.m. September 9, 2012 in Swarthout Recital Hall on KU campus, with cremation and ashes to be spread across the Flint Hills. Survivors include wife Nancy Rutherford Hawkins and a wide circle of relatives. donations to the KU Endowment Association fund his Bassoon Scholarship.
