Deficit blamed on oil imports

Bennett urges re enactment of death penalty in Kansas

Farmers find irrigation pays off for corn yields in Kansas

Fred Morse of Riverview Farms in DeSoto notes a 30 year irrigation investment. Don Palmateer and John McGrew near Lawrence report double yields on irrigated corn compared with non irrigated crops. Palmateer says irrigated corn yielded about three times as much. McGrew praises reliability and quality.

HOPE Award finalists named at KU in 1976

Seventeen Kansas University faculty members were named HOPE Award semifinalists from 180 nominees. Semifinals lead to five finalists by Oct 7, with final judging Oct 27-28 and a Nov 6 presentation at the Iowa State game.
