Resident with special needs artist surprises caregivers
Petrie, a 39 year old Lawrence man with severe cognitive impairments, is an artist who draws when he wants, pushes supplies away when done, and even signs some pieces with a loop and lines. He communicates through sounds and body language, revealing exactly how he feels and what he wants to do, much to his family's surprise.
