Associated Press reports Stephen Colbert urges fans to create viral clips for The Colbert Report. He showcased lightsaber skills on August 10 and invited submissions labeled bold depictions of his heroic fight. Submissions flow through YouTube and codebot.org Colbert.
Tokyo Metro changed course on an obscenity decision and will permit a station ad promoting HB Japan’s October issue showing Britney Spears nude on the cover. The Harper’s Bazaar Japan ad originally faced censorship but officials said the image may be shown to reflect a happy mother, not explicit content. The move follows prior blacking out of the lower body in negotiations. Kayoko Higashino, deputy editor, welcomed the decision as the intended message was motherhood.
The Miss America pageant will return to the Las Vegas Strip for its 2007 contest and be televised live on Country Music Television from the Aladdin Resort and Casino on January 29. Organizers said the move from Atlantic City seeks a younger audience, a fresh look, and lower production costs.
