Gov. Robert F. Bennett dismissed rumors that Sen. Bob Storey might become chief attorney for Kansas Department of Transportation. Bennett said Storey will stay in the Senate and remain chairman of the Transportation and Utilities Committee. O.D. Turner will appoint the chief legal officer, with Bennett guiding the selection. Bennett also offered a Kansas Corporation Commission seat to Jim Davis, who declined to move to Topeka.
