Notable Kennedy era figures tied to party incident on liner
An account recalls Arthur and Helen Hayes and Edsel Ford aboard the liner Manhattan as MacArthur explains the Eleanor Holm Jarrett party that led to her Olympic team dismissal. He asserts Jarrett was not intoxicated and that the party involved newsmen at a table in a smoking room. He claims minimal contact with Mrs Jarrett during the voyage. Additionally, obituary notices follow for William P. O'Brien of Kansas, detailing birth in Nova Scotia in 1856, emigration to Kansas, family, farming, banking interests, golden wedding anniversary, and surviving relatives.
