Kansas National Guard encampment at Fort Riley with new equipment
Old time Kansas National Guard members attend the Fort Riley encampment where the national government supplies upgraded equipment comparable to regular army gear. The equipment is valued over $1 million, with 50 freight cars delivering camp materiel and a payroll near 36 thousand dollars. Major Carl White notes the heavy presence of kitchens, mess facilities, and multi-branch units. Payday is set for August 29, with total encampment costs largely funded by the federal government.
