Consumer Group Plans Expansion In Lawrence
The Lawrence Consumer Protection Assn plans to expand from Kansas University to the entire Lawrence community this fall. Linda Triplett, the new director since Aug 15, aims to educate consumers and build a large information file while tightening administration and seeking contributions and volunteers. Since 1972 the group has handled 150 formal complaints, mainly landlord tenant issues, and hopes to broaden into a state system and lobby.
