County schools secure winter teachers and local rail updates
Nearly all county districts have secured teachers for winter terms. The Atlantic & Pacific directors passed through town in their special car on the Santa Fe en route east. The Santa Fe track weeds were cut west of the bridge by a force of men yesterday. A great chest of wheat arrived, paid at eighty cents per bushel by millers. A weekly paper for colored residents is reportedly to start here, with H A Heath of the Kansas Farmer in town. Morse entries for the Bismarck Grove fair must be made by Monday night. Wood Ward's reports a gross of Lacto Peptine, noted as a bowel remedy for children, used with Blackberry and Kino. Bismarck buildings and agricultural halls are undergoing improvements ahead of the fair.
