City Hall’s 30th anniversary marks downtown Lawrence revival
Lawrence observes 30 years since the 1980 dedication of a $3 million City Hall at Sixth and Massachusetts, once spurred by silos and grain elevators. City leaders credit the move with attracting investment, while current officials plan a reception at City Hall with cake, a photo of past leaders, and a look back at the riverfront site's transformation from a shipping terminal and flour production hub.

KU imposes new moped rules on campus
Kansas University installs 262 moped parking spaces across 28 lots and issues warnings for bike-rack parking. Fourth year business student Andrew Sigler received a $20 ticket after parking behind Budig Hall. Officials say moped use is rising with more than 60 permits issued early this semester. The policy offers easier parking and lower annual fees than car permits.
