At Altoona Kansas on August 22 a Missouri Pacific passenger train struck a car, killing five occupants and fatally injuring a sixth. The dead are Mrs James Kepley 19 and her children Barbara Lee 2 and Harold 6 months, Isabel Ware and Billy Ware of Fall River Kansas. Ethel Ware of Fall River injured. The critically hurt child was taken to Neodesha hospital. The Kepley family hosted the Wares during a visit. Daguerrotypes required 30 minutes for a sitting.
