North Lawrence couple turn junk into garden art and whimsy
Bruce and Kris Barlow collect odd items found on neighbors’ doorsteps or discarded by others and transform them into garden scenes. Their yard features a pond built from salvaged stones, a quirky fence made from 36 piano parts, and a water garden with lotus and lilies. Their approach blends salvage, sculpture, and landscape, with no pretensions of artistry. Jennifer Aldridge, KU graduate, is noted as a garden partner.
