Two area residents killed in separate crashes near Lawrence
Linda Stalkfleet 40 of Oskaloosa died when her car left the center on Kansas Highway 10 west of Lawrence at about 3 50 p m Friday. Earlier Kent Quarles of Lawrence died at the scene in Leavenworth County at 158th Street and Kansas Avenue after a two car crash. Kent Quarles age not available. Shawn E McPherson 22 of Tonganoxie was driver in the other vehicle and was flown in critical condition to Kansas University Medical Center. Rodney Deforest 45 of Drexel Missouri was not seriously injured. The Leavenworth County Sheriff says McPherson ran a stop sign before the collision.
