The city will sell compost at 1420 E lth St from Sept 23 to 25 and mulch from Oct 7 to 9. Hours are 8 am to 3 pm Thursday and Friday and 8 am to 4 pm Saturday. Cost is $10 per truck load with higher rates for larger trucks. self loading is free and city staff can load standard pickups. Keith Moody and Jason Wunder restore 1960s to 1980s garden tractors in Topeka to compete in NE Kansas tractor pulls. Moody started in 2007, Wunder in his first year. they also sell refurbished machines to fund their hobby, targeting Cub Cadet Sears Wheel Horse Montgomery Ward and certain John Deere models. They compete at events such as a July 24 NEK Stock Garden Tractor Pullers meet in Everest.
