Lawmaker objects to Treasury Czars exhibit funding
Kansas Rep Henry Helgerson accuses the Department of Commerce and Housing of financing the Treasure of the Czars exhibit with 350000. The show in Topeka through December 31 features 250 items from Moscow museums and aims to attract 350000 visitors. He says lawmakers heard no appropriations or hearings. Commerce officials counter that a 250000 unsecured loan and a 100000 grant were discussed and provided from the KEOI fund and department budget.
