A youth forced an airplane pilot to fly him away from Pearland airport. Houston officers identified the pilot as Bob Hunt and the plane as Curly Walton’s. A taxi driver, Bill Ray, was forced to drive the suspect to a location near the airport before being dropped off. Detectives recovered the taxi near the airport and authorities warned airports over a wide area to watch for the aircraft with a 250 mile range.

Plane Crash Kills Three In Alhambra Trip
Pasadena broker Crawford Waterman 37 taught flight to his fiancée Mrs Gladys Reynolds 38 and a man named Myers about 40. The trio died when a rented cabin plane crashed after takeoff from Alhambra airport as bystanders watched the wreckage burn in a vacant lot. Reynolds son Bobby 17 looked on.
