Exhumation Battle in Perkins Case Denied by Court
The Kansas City court, under Judge McPherson, denied the complainant’s request to exhume the body of Lucas Hiram Perkins for analysis of fluids and organs. The ruling sustains the demurrer for lack of jurisdiction but allows future action in a law case, leaving the issue open. The decision notes evidence and precedent on exhumation in civil cases remain unsettled, with sentiment weighed against but not blocking discovery.
