Senator pushes to repeal Kansas 35-mill property tax
Kansas Senate leader Jerry Moran urged elimination of the 35-mill statewide property tax for schools at the Governor's Tax Equity Task Force meeting. He argued Kansas faces a significant tax problem and favors replacing lost revenue with income and sales tax increases while preserving the existing 1.5-mill building levy.
