Three Americans killed as Chinese bombs hit Shanghai
In Shanghai Aug 14 three prominent American residents were killed and two wounded as Chinese Japanese aerial bombing struck crowded areas of the international settlement near the Cathay hotel and Palace hotel. Dr. Frank J. Raw, editor of the Chinese Recorder, and H. S. Honigsberg died in the Avenue Edward VII blast. Dr. Robert Reischauer, Princeton professor, died after a bomb struck the Palace hotel lobby. Wounded were J. M. Kerbey and R. R. Reuse.
