Lawrence store Adorned at 5 E Sev enth St will close in eight to ten weeks as owner Alia Sachedina shifts to online sales and occasional pop-up shops selling world items. The shop opened in 1985 as African Adorned by her mother Elizabeth Kurata.

The team offers presence, counseling, and resources to both victims and responders as Sgt. Kristen Channel notes. Taylor, a longtime Douglas County Ambulance Service paramedic since 1981, embodies the ministry of presence in crisis times.
