Jets for Egypt possible
The Reagan administration shows sympathy for Egypt President Sadat's request for 100 to 150 advanced F-16 jets but has not committed. Officials say discussions during Sadat's visit touched on additional F-16 purchases with no firm figures yet. If sold, delivery would be far off in the future. Egypt currently has 40 F-16s on order. Defense talks earlier explored a five-year armed forces upgrade plan between the U S and Egypt.
