Community Safety Fair Links Neighbors with First Responders
Douglas County hosts its annual Community Safety Fair from 9 am to 1 pm on August 17 at South Park. Co hosts Lawrence Police Department, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence Parks and Recreation, and Douglas County Emergency Management. Agencies will offer safety and health information as first responder vehicles from local departments are on display. Sheriff Jay Armbrister emphasized a low pressure, informative setting for residents to learn about public safety resources and the work of first responders. Many families can explore services and activities during the event.
