Federal judge voids Kansas gay marriage ban
U S District Judge Daniel Crabtree ruled the Kansas constitution ban on marriage licenses to same sex couples violates the Fourteenth Amendment. The decision voids laws and practices denying recognition of such unions and forces Kansas to comply with the Supreme Court ruling. ACLU Kansas and Equality Kansas welcomed the ruling while noting ongoing implementation issues and delays in state procedures for licenses and benefits.
