Grand Jury Takes Recess After 3 Day Crime Probe

A federal grand jury in Tulsa recessed after a three day probe into northeast Oklahoma crime and will be recalled in September to resume. Seven indictments were returned not tied to the Ottawa Delaware County inquiry as jurors questioned Ottawa and Delaware county officers and club owners.

South Viet casualties decline while enemy losses rise

South Vietnamese command reports last week had the lowest lethal tally since the early North Vietnamese offensive and the highest enemy deaths in three weeks. U S forces suffered seven KIA and 36 WIA, with three more nonhostile deaths. Overall totals remain grave with civilian tolls estimated up to 35,000.

Ramsey Clark Calls for Bombing Halt in Vietnam

Former U S Attorney General Ramsey Clark urged an end to North Vietnam bombing in a Hanoi Radio interview. He warned that aerial strikes on noncombatant areas would kill civilians and destroy schools and hospitals after visiting a bombed village.
