Probation decree in Lawrence traffic fatality case
A Lawrence teen given five years probation for a fatal traffic crash involving alcohol. Sean Scott, then 17, pleaded no contest to involuntary manslaughter in Felicia Bland’s death on Sept 16, 2001, with the judge ordering two years intensive and three years standard probation after completing a 90 day alcohol program. Relatives called the decision unjust while Scott’s supporters note extensive probation terms including 300 hours community service and six months house arrest.
